The Tak Matsumoto Group (TMG), spearheaded by the renowned guitarist and producer Tak Matsumoto from B’z, has announced their return with a new album after 20 years. The band, which includes original members Jack Blades (bass, vocals, Night Ranger) and Eric Martin (vocals, Mr. Big), will release their second album, “TMG II,” on September 18. This marks their first release since their debut album two decades ago.
The album includes 10 tracks, such as the catchy “CRASH DOWN LOVE” and “GUITAR HERO,” written by Blades in tribute to Matsumoto. Notably, “ETERNAL FLAMES” features a collaboration with BABYMETAL, adding a unique dynamic to the album with Eric Martin‘s vocal interplay with the popular metal group’s members.
Recording contributors include notable artists such as Matt Sorum (Guns N’ Roses, Velvet Revolver), Yukihide “YT” Takiyama (B’z support), Daniel Ho, and Jeff Babko, who have all added their distinct touch to the album.
“TMG II” will be available in three editions: a limited edition with a metal photo frame signed by the band members, a PREMIUM EDITION with a Blu-ray of the 2004 “TMG LIVE 2004 ‘Dodge The Bullet’” tour, and a standard CD edition. The Blu-ray includes newly edited footage from their Zepp Tokyo performance, offering a fresh experience even for those familiar with the original 2004 DVD.
